Who are we?

The Broomfield Housing Stability Task Force was born in 2024 to advocate for and help generate new sources of funding to meet the most urgent, housing-related needs of Broomfield residents, and to work toward the longer-term goal of stable housing for all who call Broomfield home.

To tangibly pursue these goals, we applied for and gratefully received an initial capacity grant from the Rose Community Foundation, and we continue to pursue additional grants from Rose and other local and regional philanthropic organizations to sustain our work. All Task Force funds are overseen and administered by our fiscal sponsor, the Broomfield Community Foundation (BCF).

Our Steering Committee includes…

Marrton Dormish - The coordinator of our effort, who serves as a local minister and non-profit housing and basic needs advocate in Broomfield and the North Metro Denver area. He’s lived here since 2004.

Kent Davies - A long-time resident and former Emergency Manager for the City and County of Broomfield.

Laura Harney - A relatively new Broomfield resident who founded Connective Consulting, an effort that emphasizes project management, strategic thinking and systems improvement.

Bill Heck - A parishioner at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Garden Center.

Kevin Jacobs - A former City and County of Broomfield Councilmember and community volunteer.

Monica Kneusel - A Broomfield resident of 25 years.

Terra Lenihan - A Broomfield resident since 2009 who serves as vice chair of the Broomfield Open Space Foundation and the principal of Terra Nova Consulting, which helps organizations reach their mission with clarity and purpose.

Mercy Manresa - The Family Engagement Program Coordinator with the Broomfield Early Childhood Council and resident of Broomfield since 2003.

Neha Pesaramelli - A Co-Chair of the Broomfield FISH Youth Engagement Squad.

Katie Peterson - Mom of two, 20-year resident of Willow Run and an active volunteer with The Refuge and 100 Women Who Care.

Additionally, the Task Force is thankful for its many organizational partners and unsung supporters, including retired consultant and Broomfield resident Larry Bangs, who devoted too many to count volunteer hours to fuel our work from summer 2024 to spring 2025!
