Who are we?

The Broomfield Housing Stability Task Force was born in 2024 to advocate for and help generate new sources of funding to meet the most urgent, housing-related needs of Broomfield residents, and to work toward the longer-term goal of stable housing for all who call Broomfield home.

To tangibly pursue these goals, we applied for and received a $50,000 grant from the Rose Community Foundation, which is administered under the fiscal sponsorship of The Broomfield Community Foundation (BCF).

The Task Force itself is coordinated by Marrton Dormish, a local minister who serves as a housing and basic needs advocate in Broomfield and the North Metro Denver area. He has lived in Broomfield since 2004 and blogs here.

The Task Force is also assisted by a steering committee of a dozen people with close ties to Broomfield. Among the members of the committee are:

  • Kent Davies, long-time resident and former emergency manager for the City and County of Broomfield;

  • Bill Heck, a parishioner at Holy Trinity Anglican Church;

  • Neha Pesaramelli, co-chair of the Broomfield FISH Youth Engagement Squad; and,

  • Katie Peterson, a mom of two, a 20-year resident of Willow Run, and an active volunteer with The Refuge and 100 Women Who Care.

  • Additionally, the Task Force is thankful for its many unsung supporters and organizational partners, and especially for retired consultant and Broomfield resident Larry Bangs, who devoted too many volunteer hours to count to support our work from summer 2024 to spring 2025!
