Who are we?
The Broomfield Housing Stability Task Force was born in 2024 to tangibly address the most urgent, housing-related needs of Broomfield residents. To pursue that mission, we applied for and received a $50,000 grant from the Rose Community Foundation. Our short-term goal: to lay the foundation for a two-phase, local ballot campaign toward housing stability. Our longer-term goal: stable housing for all who call Broomfield home.
The Broomfield Community Foundation (BCF) currently serves as our fiscal sponsor, and stewards and disburses our grant-award funds, as appropriate. If, and hopefully when, our campaign proposal is officially “referred” by city council to Broomfield’s election ballot, we will create new infrastructure and partner with a different fiscal sponsor equipped to support that formal phase of our ballot effort.
The Task Force itself is led by two co-coordinators, Marrton Dormish and Larry Bangs, who work alongside local advocates and residents to advance the campaign in various ways. Marrty is a local minister who serves as a housing and basic needs advocate in Broomfield and the North Metro Denver area. He was born and raised in Denver, has lived in Broomfield since 2004 and blogs here. Larry is a retired consultant, an active member of a Broomfield parish and an avid amateur actor. He’s lived in Broomfield since 2013 and is married to a lifelong Broomfielder.
