We’re neighbors helping neighbors toward housing stability in Broomfield, Colo.
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM April 12, 2026: Building on our foundation-laying efforts from 2024-25, we have just released a new poll of likely voters around urgent housing-related needs and possible solutions to meet them. The results, gleaned from voter sentiments, will significantly shape whether or not we proceed with a local ballot proposal for this fall's election. As for the poll itself, it is a scientific one based on a representative sample of likely voters and not an on-demand, community-wide survey of all residents. Although we welcome feedback from Broomfielders and remain in ongoing dialogue with many local stakeholders, the Task Force commissioned this poll on its own initiative and paid for the poll in its entirety from grant funds and donations. Stay tuned to this site for updated content as we discern how and whether to proceed, and to review ballot proposal specifics, if and when they are finalized, likely in May or June 2026.
Our Goal
To pursue new sources of funding to close our community’s current, collaboratively identified, $11 million-per-year gap between locally available resources and the unmet housing-related needs of Broomfield residents.
See “The Need” page for details on each of those categories.
How we plan to reach our goal
After proposing two new tax measures that didn’t receive enough polling support from likely voters in spring 2025, we have continued engaging with local community groups, stakeholders and residents around the very real need that exists in our community.
Our task remains to creatively identify and pursue viable, ongoing funding streams that prioritize housing stability for hard-working Broomfield households. These could include possible upcoming ballot initiatives (the same or different than ones we proposed in 2025), advocacy around potential city and county budget reallocations, enhanced pursuit of philanthropic grants, appeals to employers and faith communities, creative local fundraising, and whatever other ideas we can think of!
Any new funding we’re able to generate would be overseen by civic, non-profit and resident stakeholders and granted to local, on-the-ground agencies addressing vital areas of urgent need.
We’re not trying to solve all of Broomfield’s full-spectrum housing challenges through this effort, just the most urgent ones!
What we need from you
Even as we grow as a community, we want to build on the tight-knit foundation that makes Broomfield unique. It’s Broomfield Days in September. It’s Ziggi’s Coffee Shop on weekday mornings. It’s the Brunner Farmhouse, Metzger Farm and Broomfield Commons on summer weekends. And when times are tough, it’s neighbors helping neighbors so that all of us can thrive.
